Hey Everyone!
How’s the New Year going for you so far? This post is a bit of a ramble. When I was still studying I always dreaded the months after Christmas and New Years. Time always seemed to go soooo sloooooow, but now, I really had to take days off for the holidays and the new year started quite busy! I did (and I'm still doing) a lot of reflecting and organizing and it's funny (sort off)...I thought I got things pretty clear in my head regarding my blog, but I realized I wanted to switch things up again.
I mean I have two blogs now. This one and TJ on Illustrations. The people who follow me on Twitter and Facebook know I’ve been sharing my older columns on a new writer’s site called Expats Post. I’ll tell you more about this site another time! My second blog is like a diary where I let you all peek in my brain and give some insight in how I perceive and experience the Illustration World. It's really focused on the writing element, whereas this blog...this blog is a true arty ramble blog. I like to keep it that way.
I’ve been pondering what I want to do with my blog and how to keep it
interesting for you and myself. Well, the cupcake tutorial and ‘appelflappen’ recipe got a lot of great feedback, so I will be adding more recipes and
simple tutorials. Fun times! Next to that, I’m also discussing a side project with my sister. We've been planning to do something for quite some time now and we're finally setting things in motion. Fun times again, but more on this soon!
You know, ever since I have my fanpage, I started to draw even more. I've increased my drawing by adding a doodle or two each day on my fanpage. Usually sketch work, but it keeps me drawing every day, no matter how little the drawing is. I was thinking to upload it on my blog as well, but I don't want to be all spammy and otherwise I'll be spending my entire day uploading and promoting my posts! So every now and then I will add sketchwork here (like I did in this post), but do follow me on FB as well, if you want more frequent little bits of art by me ^_^
I'm working on a
series of paintings that I can hopefully show you over the next couple
of days as well. Plus! My Etsy will be up and running! I can't say 'again' as I never used my Etsy store, but this shall change soon.
See? The year started busy, busy! Is there something you'd like me to share my thoughts about? Questions you'd like to ask me? Just let me know below or in an e-mail.
End Ramble ^_^
Ciao!

Doodle Giveaway 2: Mermaids Anyone? (closed)
Woohoo! The first giveaway of 2011 (but it is the second give away on this blog). I decided to do more of this, because for me it's just a little & fun gesture to thank you all for reading & participating on my blog. I have a high quality scan of most of my work and after I scanned it, it usually ends up neatly tucked away in a folder. To give a piece away, I know (well I hope so anyway hehe) that it will be hung up on a wall or be given to someone else. The first one that's waiting for a new home is:
You like it? The little fishies are so fun to draw haha. I shall sign & write the date on the back and wrap it up tightly. If you're interested in having an Original art a la TJ, all you have to do is to be sure that:
1. You comment below that you want to join and ehm...Oh! I would love to know what you'll be doing with the drawing if you're the winner. I'm just curious.
2. You are a subscriber to this blog. Yes people, I love to see your lovely pictures floating in the side bar ;)
3. You do a little dance. Okay, the dance is optional.
I will use the site: random.org to select the winner from the comments below. The winner shall be announced in my next post. If you don't win, do not fear! There are more ways to win an original piece of art by me OR by the lovely ms. Claire! Every Friday there is a 'Feel Your Boobs' Friday giveaway on the Self Exam Doodles Page on Facebook. If you're a supporter, you automatically join the weekly giveaway. How easy is that!
Also, do you have an idea for the next giveaway should be? I was thinking to just choose one of the drawings I already have, but if you would to see e.g. pirates or more animals, just let me know. I'll choose the topic that is said the most and I shall create a little illustration for the next giveaway! If your topic isn't chosen, I will take it with me for the next one ^_^.
Edit: Giveaway is closed now. Winner is Vincent Parker! Congratulation. Stay tuned for the next one everyone!
Have a great Monday!

It is PARTY TIME
Heeey everyone!
Another year has passed and it's my...birthday again! So get your party outfits out of the closet and get your drinks ready. For the ones who didn't know, but who are dying to know my age (I know it's such an important fact about myself...hehe). I am 25 now!
It's not only my birthday today. It's also the birthday of lovely fellow friend and illustrator ms. Kimberly from Soggy Dog Studios! Happy Birthday Kim!! I know you love mermaids, so thought it would be fun to give you a mermaid drawing. Either way, I hope you're having a lovely day as well. Big hugs & kisses to you!
To celebrate my day with all of you I'm having a give away! Yes. you've heard it correctly. It is:
A Doodly Give Away
The prices are a personally designed mug and a Halloween poster illustration! This means there are two winners. The first winner can design his/hers own mug. The mugs you see in this little slide show are only examples. I made these for family & friends.
The second winner can choose one of the Halloween Illustrations below as a poster print.
You like what you see? The rules are as follow:
1. You need to be a lovely reader of my blog and by this I mean follow publicly with Google Friend Connect.
2. Leave a comment on this post. Otherwise you won't be thrown in the Magic Hat, because I won't know you want to participate. Yes. I have a Magic Hat.
3. Eat a cookie. Okay just kidding with number 3.
Just follow 1 and 2 and you're done. I shall announce the winner in my next post on October 31st, 2010. Make sure to check back in a week or so. Thanks for participating & Have an awesome day everyone!!
