The Observer being Observed

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you have a wonderful time!

So today's ramble: Any observers out there?

Usually when I'm in the subway or train, my mind drifts of and I watch the people sitting or passing by. From my family I'm the only who does this, my sisters are usually looking at me like this -_-, when I tell them stories of what I saw/heard outside. Yes some may call it staring and stalking though...I prefer observing and analyzing. It has a sophisticated ring to it ^_^. I use the ideas I get for drawings and for my stories. Or I just randomly tell them in a conversation to someone. Like this one time, an old dude sneeze so hard that I thought his glasses flew away. Really, if you weren't awake till that point...The Sneeze would've made sure you were clutching your bag in fear and looking around in panic. The Sneeze has that effect on people...you know I will make a sketch of that! The Sneeze.

This other time there was another dude screaming random things like "Horse! Central Station! Willem Alexander (that's the prince of Holland)! What does he have to do then?!" then he would spit several times on the ground and add a few curse words here and there before he started to sing Whooeeee....maybe it were a hidden messages...I don't know. Too late to find out now though.

Oh and another time there was a guy who had an imaginary phone and he was really talking to it! His hand I mean. He had a whole conversation with this other dude or lady. I don't know. Also there is ( I still see her quite often...) a lady who kinda gives me the creeps, because she just has a blank stare and she just keeps staring...and she has big eyes...

I also often caught people at staring when I looked up when I'm walking around. Don't ask me why I suddenly look up while I'm walking. Sometimes I just do, perhaps that's why I trip so every now and then...

Just a quick doodle:
Please enlarge the image to read the small notes on it.

Either way, it occurred to me one day that I'm not the only one who observes people. You might think "Duh!! You're not the only one walking this planet -_-!" But you know I got out of that bubble where I thought that I rule the world and where no one knows that I observe people for my own doodles and storytelling hehe.

So while I think that I'm observing someone, another person can observe me. It's only logical. So there you have it; The observer is being observed.

*pop* *pop* *pop*

Right...sorry if I burst someone's bubble where he/she thought that he/she was exclusively observing the world, but I just wanted to share this with you guys ^_^.

Have a lovely day and take care everyone!

BOO ^_^...Happy Halloween!

(if you enlarge it...you see it in more detail ^_^)

Happy Halloween Everyone!

I wanted to create a super cool outfit...but my mind went kinda blank haha. Soo it's a traditional witchy, vampire-ish kinda outfit in a typical Halloween setting. With typical I mean darker colors, ghosts trying to scare people (Boo anyone? Someone? No? Not scary?), pumpkins and a typical vague castle kind of thing in the background.

Hope you like it!!

Either way, have fun strolling around, scaring people, trick & treating and you know all the stuff that is typical Halloween!!

Ciao!

ps.: Next post will have a lot of updates! Stay tuned! Xoxo

Just A Little Update and a Warning.

Updates Updates Updates....this post is all about updates! I guess that was a bit obvious haha.

1. It was my brother's birthday last Saturday ^_^!! So I want to say:

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOUSUKE-SAN

Yes I call him by his Japanese name ^_^. It was a lovely day even though the weather report said it was going to rain. But the sun was shining. We had presents, pie and music. My dad even did a last minute BBQ. So it was all good! I'm happy he liked the anime books I got him!

2. A few weeks ago I was asked by a fellow blogger, Millieunet. Milieunet is a blog about the environment, events that take place around this and news that is written about this. So last Wednesday (September 9th) was the Day of Sustainability. I made a quick illustration and it was posted on the blog. Yeey!! There is a translator button on the blog, if you are interested to read it. I made the following illustration:
Sooo what do you think? I incorporated wind energy, solarpanels as part of the illustration to show that you can use natural energies to provide energy. Also planting lots of...well green to help the world to get a bit greener haha.

3. I made a birthday card for my three year old neighbor. Cute little guy haha. He's floating towards adulthood...well something like that ^_^.

Oh I scanned it a bit weird. Sorry about that!

4. I made a another mug!! This time the design is a bit different. Still with chibi's though. Check out it below! My sister, I call her KiKi, she makes bracelets and she made one in the colors of the Italian flag. I think it gives a nice extra detail as a present.

Oh newsflash! I got an 'order' from a friend to design an illustration for two mugs that she wants to give as a part of her wedding present. How cool is this ^_^!

5. Oh I updated the post of my little book review! I posted a picture...of me and the book haha. Nothing fancy or anything. I wanted to post a picture of the book cover and then I changed my mind and posted one of me and the book. So check it out...here. <-- Yes click there.

6. I finished the Bond girl card. Remember the post I did? I choose to go with the chibi girls. This is the final result:
Loved by Bond. No.9

Tadaa! I'm quite pleased with the end result. When I painted the colors, I wasn't quite pleased with it. I don't know why and this got me quite annoyed. I just put it away for a few days. And I just glued to a piece a carton and added the flowers (which are actually for scrapbooking) and then when I looked at it, I was quite happy. Ms. Bond already received the card and she was really happy with it! Which made me even more happy haha. So in the end it turned out all good!

7. This is not really an update, more like a warning haha. The next post will be quite long...

So that's it! Stay tuned for other sketches, doodles, illustrations and so on!!

Ciao!

Can I have this kiss?

Ciao everyone!

A few days back I got asked to participate on a blog post from fellow blogger Bring Back Pluto.

The theme was a kiss/the kiss ooh la la...

A nice theme and you can go many ways with this. I just got the theme and I could play with it. A kiss can mean many things and can be done in many ways. A friendly peck on the cheek, an intimate moment between two lovers, a way to show your affection to your child. A kiss can mean more than a thousand words. The feeling that goes in it can't really be describe, if you try, you'll see that you need lots of words, descriptions to say what you feel...it can be butterflies, sunny, warm, touchy and so on. Well, save yourself some trouble and just kiss it away.

I got a few ideas and this is what I came up with.

a cute drawing. Yeah guys, especially when they are younger can act like they don't want a kiss...but secretly they do want it. This is only when they are younger tho...

Okay....this one just freaks me out a little -_-.
Just look at her lips! I feel sorry for the guy. Yes, I do.

Hehe a bit like a fairytale.
Yeah I wonder what will happen if she kisses the frog. Have to say that he looks very cute

classic tale.
The Femme Fatal. Everyone wants her, but is she really that unreachable?

Okay the last one is also the one they chose is....*drums please*

I wonder, can a kiss be deadly?

So which one would you have chosen?

The blog 'The Guys perspective' is really cool, funny and witty! Lots of information on how guys perceive things and they tell you straight as it is. You can see the post here (yes just click that little hyper linked word). Some lovely and funny descriptions were entered. Be sure to check it out ^_^

Can you give me a new hairdo please?

Hair emergency or not...

Okay wait my hair doesn't really look like that. Perhaps if I brushed it and danced around or something. I always had long hair (not when I was a baby...you guys are just a bunch of smarty pants aren't you? hehe), but the structure has changed over time. When I was younger my hair was very curly and thick. Then when I grew up and the curls slightly went softer and it stayed like that for a while. Then I cut my hair in layers and *POEF* the curls were back again. Now, I keep my hair in layers; shorter in the front and long at the back. Luckily, my hair doesn't need that much maintenance, even though a lot of people think that. The only think is, that it never looks the same. One day it's curly and then the other day it's more straight and then the other day it's somewhere in between? Are you familiar with this?

Random fact about me: It's a funny thing...oh at least I think it's funny, perhaps you guys just look like this o_O. Well let me tell you, I got the question if I had hair extensions hehe...

Well I don't. I just wanted to clarify that ^_^.

Reader Crpitt (DO check out her blog! It's a funny and personal blog! Nicely written as well!) requested to see some hair styles. Well I did have a few sketches laying around and I drew some more. Let me say this, it's not a tutorial or something. I just show you how I draw different hairstyles. I think the most important thing, is that hair is drawn in a fluent motion. and not in straight lines. I can't post all of my sketches...it's a bit too much. But I can show you some examples. Care to join me on a little tour? Here we go!

longer hairstyle

As you can see, I made the lines in a soft 'S' motion. Because hair moves freely (yes it does...unless you have cut it very short of used a huge amount of hairgel hehe).
My drawings aren't detailed enough to make several hair movement lines. But if you look at the highly detailed anime drawings, you see that the hair structure is very flowing, big, colorful and dramatic. This can apply for the girl and boy characters.
Also in my drawing I made the lines more round towards the back of the head (don't know for sure if there's a specific word for this). This is to create depth and the illusion that the drawing is more in 3d style. I mean a head is round (oval shaped, egg shaped...hmm I think those two are almost the same. But you get the picture right ;D?)

Oh I usually draw girls, but perhaps you already noticed this haha. So the hair styles I'm going to show you are all girlie hairdo's ^_^.

To your right we have a more curly hair creation. I uses short, like quick 'C' strokes to create the curls. Below you see the hair in two pigtails and with big bangs.

Oh sorry if the faces freak you out...not every drawing is complete. Remember these are just sketches. sometimes I just draw the eyes to see what kind of hair style I'm going to draw. When I'm focusing on one element. I just draw a couple of basic head shapes and start drawing whatever I'm focusing on. It's an easy way to get to know different drawing techniques.

Come on follow me...I'll show you a few more hair styles.

On your left, you have an 'in between' style. As you can see the upper is more slick and in place, while the bottom is more curly. It's kept in place with a bead of pearls on the side.

On your right, ladies and gents, you see a short bob styled hairdo (I love her eye, don't know why haha.)

On your left again (sorry, if you get neck cramps)
A simple ponytail. But hopefully you see in this drawing, that the lines are made a little upwards, so you create the effect that the hair is pulled back in a ponytail and that is not flat on the head. You see this in every drawing (I hope...). I think you can describe it as making lot's of 'C's or 'S's...or doesn't this make sense at all to you? Haha, you know I try to find a simple way to remember certain techniques so that it's easier for me to memorize it.

Another pair of hairstyles. For this you can just look straight ahead.

Two very elegant hairstyles. Yes, very elegant. The geisha is one that has been seen in an earlier post. If you like, you can have a look after this tour is done.

Another elegant hairdo is this one, to your right. And if you look forward again...

"Excuse me, dude in the back...
"yeah..."
"stop drooling...please."

*A bodyguard came and took the dude away*

Yes, sorry about that. A minor disturbance. Let's continue. Where was I? Oh yeah, if you look forward, you see a soft flowing hairstyle. This leans a tiny bit more to the dramatic hairdo's that anime characters has, just a tiny bit.

Well I really hope you all like this little tour. The refreshments are on its way and stay tuned for some project updates ^_^!

Ciao!!

PS.: aah this post became a bit long haha...hopefully you didn't fall asleep

Just a little make over

Okay can you see something different on my blog?

Take a good look...ehm...you need something to drink with that? Oh some cookies? Sure, help yourself.

*few hours and cookies later*

What? Yeah! You got it. I changed the banner ^_^. And also different font and some colors here and there. No more dots.

So what do you think? Does it look good? Do I need to change something? Use of colors?

Just let me know ^_^. I think I will change the look of my banner every once in a while, depends on my mood haha.

Cya!

Psst Ash, on my new profile picture you can see the other flower hair pin ^_^. Xx
