It's That Time of the Year...Again!!

Hello Hello Everyone!

Thanks so much for the response on the cupcake tutorial (previous post)! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people that read and liked the post! I will have more cupcake tutorials soon and from this I shall expand to other tutorials *evil laugh*

You know, I think that this is the last post for 2011...I need to take a few days off and re-focus and prepare for the Holidays. It really feels like it has been only a week ago, that I wished you Happy Holidays in 2010! I think I also have my first new party header where my characters had skin tones. Goodness!

I know I probably already said 'Thank You' many, many times, but I shall do it again, because without your support and readership I wouldn’t be here! Really, a huge thank you for just following me on my journey. I hope it inspires you to just work hard & chase your own dreams. You can make a difference for yourself as nothing is impossible, you can make it impossible by thinking that it is!

                                                                

I’m really curious to what 2012 will bring! Commission requests are already coming in for 2012 and I have a feeling that I have to put a commission stop soon. You will be notified when I have to do this though, but if you don’t have a deadline and you don’t mind waiting a bit longer for your commission, then by all means, e-mail me if you have questions, want to know prices and so on (tjlubrano@gmail.com).

With this, I shall leave you! I’ll be checking in on my Fan page every now and then and post random doodles. I gotta keep on doodling!

Don't forget that I also have a column blog, I published my last column for this year there. It's called, Glancing Back. Plus, don't forget about the Migwi book project ^_^. In 2012, there will be more tidbits  of news about this little monkey too.

Let's make this an Awesome Year shall we?

This is just a quick post to let you know that...I am back! Well, I was still floating somewhere out there, but expect more regular posts from me from now on hehe. The past week, I've been working on several illustrations that I need to get out of the way before I start with bigger projects. Unfortunately I can't show you these yet. Except this one!

Up up in the Sky, I Fly.

Also, I'm working through my to do list (which is HUGE) and finding a balance in creating art work, while making sure that everything else around me doesn't get neglected. This is pretty difficult. Once I start drawing I tend to spend hours just doing that. Not the best thing of course, because I do not want to turn into a couch potato...although I'm not watching TV. You know what I mean right? But more on this in another post.

This is a commission I did for a blog friend, ms. Dana Ward last year. She did such a lovely post about me after she received her illustration ^_^. Sooo, what can you expect from me the upcoming months?

1. Doodle Give Aways: I will try to have these more frequently So stay tuned for the next one.

2. Adventures from me chasing my dream of becoming an illustrator: I thought it would be fun/interesting to share my thoughts/ stories of things that are fun, difficult, things I need to pay attention to. Going into a whole other direction and setting up as a - one man's - business isn't easy, but if you really want it, you'll face everything that comes on your path right. I should say one lady's business!

3. A Look in the Past: Little stories from my past, possibly also old drawings.
4. More Illustration work in progress posts!
5. ehmm...and more awesome things haha.

This is just to give you an idea of what's ahead of you. The whole purpose of rambling would be gone if I told you exactly what you could expect on my blog hehe. All I know is that 2011 is going to be a year filled with creative adventures! Are you ready to tag along?

Jingle Bells & Fireworks are almost here!

I have some news...I got interviewed! Mr. Andrew from Tickle City Award was so kind to feature me on his blog. His blog is filled with stories that reflect the different aspects of the modern culture and most importantly they are...tickle city! You know, I actually had two more posts planned for this year.Then I got struck down with the stomach flu... It's going better now though, but it gave me some time to think about a lot of stuff. It's funny, that the weirdest things come to mind when your sick, but I guess it's because you don't have anything else to do anyway. I also got a few new illustrations ideas! Kid you not, but this you will see in 2011 hehe.

 This little guy won the Zazzle Today's Best Award ^_^.

So, ladies & gents: This shall be my last post for 2010! Most of you know, that the last few months have been very busy for me. Going from hectic thesis time, straight into setting myself up as an illustrator. I've been illustrating a lot of stuff the past few weeks and now I need some time to refocus on what I want to do in 2011 and how exactly I want to do this.

So MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!

Also, I just wanna say a HUGE thank you to all of you who have been sticking around, even when times were a bit quiet here. Thank you for reading, commenting & sharing your thoughts. It motivates me even more to create fun stuff for you guys to see and share my adventures with you all. I always love to hear from you all and hope you'll be sticking around a lot longer :D

To conclude this year, I've made a picture set on Flickr and threw a bunch of illustrations in it that I didn't show on my blog yet. They are all done the last couple of weeks/months. Mainly commissions for mugs and a few small paintings. I still kept a few things out of it, because they are a surprise for some of my readers out there haha. Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I had a lovely time (despite the fact I was still feeling sick. Stupid flu -_-'') and the food was very tasty. As usual fun times always pass by so quickly! Ah well, a button to freeze time hasn't been invented yet (I need to work on my inventions!). So let's all proceed with the countdown towards the New Year!

Hello 2010!!

Have to say, 2009, was filled with lots of things. Opportunities, chances, new friends and catching up with old friends. Yes. I had moments where I thought 'What the !@#$ is happening now', but in the end it all turned out okay (in some cases...sort of okay hehe).

A big THANK YOU to everyone for sticking around. Reading or skimming through my rambling, leaving comments, shouts and sending emails. I really appreciate every single one!! I can assure you more of this will come in 2010. Should I warn you? I would, but even I don't know what the next ramble will be and I think the element of surprise has to be kept in my future posts...that is if you guys were surprised...

So for now I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR! May it be filled with adventure, happiness, music, good health, love, goodies, luck and well all those things! If things didn't turn out all too well in 2009; just try to learn from your mistakes, start afresh and with new positivity! At least that's what I will try to do the next year ^_^!
