Here's a little WIP for you again ^_^. Ms. Doodologist correctly pointed out "Rapunzel of the Cupcakes"...something like that hehe. Either way, I found a cool concept sketch of Rapunzel on the internet and used this as a reference for the character and voila...floating cupcakes were born. I already showed a little peek a while back, but I did snap more pics while I was working on this one as I showed peeks on my fanpage, so I figured to placed them all together and create a little post for you guys! Hope you like it and have fun staring!!
You know, with this little painting it really was all about subtle details. After the two bigger washes of color, I just added colors here and there, to bring out certain characters. I think if I added too much watercolor layers, the painting would lose it's "floaty-ness"...I have no other word to describe it, sooo I hope you get what I'm trying to say haha. I also didn't re-line every thing with black either. The final picture has been edited a bit in Photoshop, just to make sure the colors are brought back to life again. Can't have dull pictures, now can we?!
Hope you liked this little WIP!!
Nice Work ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jared!! :)
DeleteSo great to see a work in progress..Wonderful, TJ :-)
ReplyDeleteYay! So pleased you like it, Katy! Thanks so much! ^_^
DeleteWow!! That color, my goodness.A picture can take on an entirely different feeling simply by adding a few pops of color.
ReplyDeleteI love to see your WIPs!
Aww you said my goodness :D Thank you so much! I'm always curious how an image will change when I'll paint it. Sometimes it goes wrong though, but often I just re-draw it again haha. So happy you like seeing the WIPs!!
DeleteIt looks so yummy. I want to eat my computer screen! Love it, TJ. So cool!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Did you lick your screen?? hehe. Grazie, Grazie! It's so much fun sharing this with you all!

ReplyDeletei am wondering what shampoo she is using... she has absolutely gorgeous hair!!!!
XXOOO
Pretty Mitaaaaa! Thank you! I want to know about her hair care as well haha. Maybe she has some tips for me!
DeleteHope you're doing okay! Xoxoxox!
So I wrote this comment... I loved the comment... and I got an error! I mean, aaarrrghh!!! How frustrating! So now I have to start all over again... *sigh*, but for you I will! :D
ReplyDeleteAnyway... I said... I LOVE your paintings! Wat doe je met je paintings nadat ze af zijn???
Aaaah noooo! The rudeness! I still have this as well, so frustrating indeed! Sometimes when I'm not sure or I have a feeling my laptop will act weird, I save my comment and then check if it gets posted.
DeleteThank you so much for re-typing it again :D *squeezy hugs* hehe. I'm SO happy you the painting! I'm building my portfolio, practicing techniques and looking what I really like to paint now and what will sell. But a lot that I paint now, will be sold via Etsy (I still need to post my originals though). Sometimes people get interested before it is done as I post peeks on Facebook and they contact me for how much I'll sell it. If they agree, it is theirs ^_^.
Your picture is SO cute!! Your eyes are beautiful!
