Hey Everyone!
Don't you just hate it when things just don't go as planned? Last week really wasn't a good week for me. Such an annoyance.
First I had to deal with a stupid virus on my laptop. I had a lovely schedule and WOOSH it went out of the window as the virus decided to take over. If you saw a pretty paper with a ribbon flying around...it was my schedule and to-do list. Rude, I say! Luckily, I could do a final back-up of my files, before little bro completely reformatted everything again. So now...it's fixed and my laptop is all new again. It's funny, I really missed posting my daily updates on FB and I realized all over again how often I use my laptop and how much information I've stored on it. I still need to install a few things to do my work easier. So that's why I haven't updated you all with new Etsy items or the FB Giveaway. Just keep an close eye on this blog or my FB Page as it will happen soon. People who are expecting an e-mail from me...stay tuned please!
Okay. Second thing that happened. I believe I mentioned a while ago that I applied for an Art Fund, well I got the news that I didn't get it and the only reason that I didn't get it is because I didn't study Art. Formality in a world where creativity plays the main role...it seems like such a contradiction. There was a chance that this would happen, but I really wished they would look at the other requirements, my motivation and my art, but well no. Like I said in my title, it is not the end of the world, but of course a part of me did hope for positive news as I put so much time and effort in my report and with the money I'd get, I could do some things a bit easier.
Ah well. I was really bummed for a day or so, because the waiting was nerve wrecking! Sheesh. Understatement of the year. However, it's their loss and it's a closed chapter now. So I'm just focusing on my other projects :D.
The illustrations in this post, the originals will be in my Etsy soon! Ah I love the pretty colors. Yes. I am a huge Color Nerd hehe.
Fancy another read by me? Then Get Ready To...Ramble!! This is my latest column ^_^
Ciao Ciao! Till next post!
Ugh. Sounds like you had quite a week. I don't like it when bad things happen to my friends! Just keep moving forward with a smile on your face. It's such a pretty smile, you know. :)
ReplyDeleteI will keep on moving forward, Janene! Thanks so much, definitely a stupid week, but ah well. I'll survive ^_^ And yes, I'll keep on smiling too. So sweet of you haha.
DeleteWhat a crappy week TJ, hope this week is better for ya. I know how it feels to be rejected for a grant, did that myself about five years ago, sod them..like you said, their loss :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, this week definitely started better, thank goodness ^_^ Ah sorry to hear about the rejection too. It really sucks huh? Rude, I say. Yes! Sod them. I just (bloody) love British words haha. Thanks muchly, Brows!
DeleteNice artwork you're making these days :3! Also, I hope you have a better week this week ^^. I had a horrible last couple weeks myself. School and sooooo much work! xD
ReplyDeleteHi Shawnte!! Thank you so much for both haha. We just have to kick those horrible weeks huh and keep on going!!! ^_^ Talk soon!
DeleteOh man! Sorry to hear about all of the crap you had to endure recently. In regards to the Art Fund...I may be biased here, but I don't believe there's a degree in the world that can give people what you've got. Forget them! On to bigger and better things for you Ms. Lubrano. Then, when you're really rich and famous, you can thumb your nose at them ;)
ReplyDeleteYesss Bigger and Better things! I mustn't think too much about it as it still can annoy me just a tiny bit. But I shall forget them :)
DeleteHahaha thumb my nose at them! I do hope I get the chance to help artists who traveled from a different direction when I'm rich & famous hehe :D
TJ, sorry to hear about the rejection from the Art Fund. It's sad to discover how conventional even the art world can be, with all its petty rules and regulations. Meanwhile TJ's art goes on and flourishes, headed towards a bright future, with its playfulness, elegance and love of people and all things beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCiao NP! It's okay :) But yes, it's sad to see how conventional the art world can be. Ah well, I can say I've tried right! And I'll keep on going and keep on creating!! Thank you so much. It's always lovely to see you here NP!!
DeleteI can definitely relate to that, when little things don't work out quite well and starts to be annoying somehow. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteTJ... how've you been outside the crappy week ? I've been there many times myself, I know you'll turn it around. I love the designs on this post. Very colorful !! Nice job.
ReplyDelete- Marty
Heeeey Marty! It has been a while! Other than this annoying situation, I've been doing pretty well ^_^. The only thing you can do is to move on right? Thank you so much! I keep on experimenting haha! Hope you've been well yourself!
DeleteUgh! A virus really ruins my week. I'm sorry you got one. It happens to the best of us. That is really lame about not winning the Art Fund because you didn't study Art. I did not study writing or poetry. I would be really really upset if told that was the only reason I didn't win. :( xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel! Ahh it really ruined my week too, but there was nothing I could do about it -_-'. It's really lame indeed, but they really want to stick to their rules and you know I only hope I can be of inspiration to others who went through the same. It's not the end of the World, but they are very narrow-minded. Hope you're well!! Xoxoxo
DeleteHowdy,
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing? I'm so sorry to hear that. Anyway, very colorful! Love 'em all!
Regards.
Hi there Stevie! I'm doing fine, thank you! Hope you're doing well yourself. Very happy you like the art :D The fund? Ah well, I'll get to where I want to be in my own way haha. Thanks for stopping by!!
